Siblings benefit from a priority enrollment if the family has successfully completed their Application Process, including the Invitation to Meet our Head of School.
Our French teachers are certified with a French national teaching accreditation.
Unfortunately, we do not grant any tuition reductions for additional siblings. However, we offer some tuition reduction if you pay your tuition payment in full by the May due date.
School financial aid is available to all of The École’s parents. French citizens may also apply for a French scholarship at the French Consulate of New York. You may apply for financial aid during the application process.
The École’s community is composed of more than 70 nationalities.
52% of our students have parents of different nationalities.
36% of them have at least one of their parents who is American, and 64% have at least one of their parents who is French.
There is a minimum of 60% French-speaking children per class.
74% of our families are living full-time or staying indefinitely in New York.
Children who don’t speak French can enroll in The École up until and including Kindergarten. They will receive personalized language support through our STRIVE department (Stimulate, Transform, Reach, Identify, Value, and Enrich).
We cannot admit children entering 1st Grade or beyond if they have never previously been enrolled in a school where they followed a French language program.
We have one Pre-Nursery class. From Nursery to 5th grade, there are two classes per grade, and in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade, there is one. On average, a class is composed of 17 students, and never more than 20 (12 for Pre-Nursery, 16 for Nursery, 18 for Pre-K). The student-to-teacher ratio is 8:1.
There is an after-school program specially designed for the Maternelle, Elementary, and Middle School divisions. These after-school activities are not included in the tuition fees and their payment is separate from the tuition.
Our Pre-Nursery accepts children who will have had their second birthday by September 1st of the year they start school.
Starting in Nursery, the deadline is December 31. For example, all children joining our Nursery class should have turned three by December 31 of the year they join the class. Please note that in addition to our age requirements, all children must be potty-trained before the first day of school. Pull-ups are not permitted during school hours starting Nursery.
Applications should be received by the due date. However, we will consider any late applications if there are available openings for students.
If your child and yourself cannot meet our head of school in person, we will organize an online meeting.
Supporting you through the admissions process
At The École, we believe in supporting one another. It’s a trait that’s never more important than during admissions—especially if it’s the first time you’ve applied to an independent school. If you have a question or a concern, no matter how big or small, please reach out to our Admissions team. They’re always ready to lend a hand.
