Elementary and Middle School students are welcome to sign up for contests and shows during the school year, such as the talent show, read-aloud, and poetry recitation contests. The events provide students with the opportunity to hone their public speaking and performance skills. Participation is voluntary, but children are actively encouraged to take part–House participation points and certificates are awarded. Registration forms and details about the materials to prepare are shared in the Memo in advance and there is one technical rehearsal the day before each show/contest. Parents of all participating children are invited to attend. The shows and contests usually take place during afternoon recess (between 12 and 2 p.m.) In 2024-2025, the Elementary & Middle School Talent Show will take place on Friday, December 20, the Read Aloud Contest on Wednesday, January 15, the French Poetry Recitation Contest on Thursday, March 20, and the English Poetry Recitation Contest on Thursday, May 1.
