As promised, this letter intends to keep you informed about our progress with our exciting relocation to 115 E 22nd Street. You can find our first letter here.
Where we are now
On Tuesday, October 22, we visited our architects’ offices downtown. The goal of this meeting was to pick the material and the color for the cabinetry, the laminates, the restrooms, and the floors, which is both an exciting and slightly overwhelming process!
Our permits are moving forward at a good pace, which is excellent news–it will be a lengthy process.
What’s next
On Monday, November 4, we will meet with our architects and Colliers to sign off on the final architectural and engineering plans.
As soon as we’ve signed off on the plans, we will move on to bidding for the contractors, a process that we expect to take two to three weeks. We intend to organize a community visit to 115 East 22nd before construction starts. Watch this space for more information.
We’ve also ordered professional renderings of the plans to help you visualize the space better. Fingers crossed, they will be ready to display at the end-of-the-year party in December.
We wish you all an excellent weekend, starting with boo-tastic trick-or-treating tonight. The École team will be at Albertine for the Bilingual Fair on Saturday–come say hello if you’re in the area! And, of course, Happy Diwali to those we celebrate!
