The World of Work is back for its eleventh season at The École in 2024-2025! We are delighted to welcome a variety of industry experts to meet our 8th Grade students in their classroom and share their professional experience, values, background, and knowledge with them.

Let me be frank: the decision to close school for two days for the parent-teacher conferences (PTCs) will probably not feature in my top 10 most popular decisions ever. My ears are burning in a record-breaking fashion—and being an incurable hypochondriac, I’m beginning to worry I’ve got a ruptured eardrum.

The World of Work is back for its tenth season at The École in 2023-2024! We are delighted to be welcoming a variety of industry experts to meet our 8th Grade students in their classroom—either virtually or in person—and share their professional experience, values, background, and knowledge with them.

This week and last I’ve found myself faced with the same predicament – where am I going to find the time to write this letter? My schedule is so tightly packed lately that, beyond trying to squeeze in as many meetings as possible between a conference in Houston that ran until Tuesday and a social gathering that featured some unscheduled dancing on Thursday night, I barely have the time to collect my thoughts nevermind keep you posted on everything we’re working on.

This morning, I had the pleasure of welcoming parents for our first p’tit déj – a breakfast event that will take place every month until the end of the year. It was an excellent opportunity for me to take the pulse of the school and to identify the issues that matter to our families – what they worry about, what they are happy with, what disappoints them, what they like, and what they like a little less.
